I am an Occupational Therapist with 19 years’ experience of working with individuals with acquired brain injury, spinal injury, cerebral palsy, neurological conditions, and complex needs arising from both physical and cognitive impairments. I have worked with adults and children at various stages of recovery and rehabilitation.I have worked in residential settings for clients with complex problems as a consequence of brain injury, I have extensive knowledge, understanding and expertise in assessment, therapeutic interventions, goal setting and attainment, plus planning of rehabilitation, as well as risk assessment and management. I also trained as an instructor in de-escalation techniques and non-aggressive management of challenging behaviour. I am registered with the Health Professions Council and a member of the British Association of Occupational Therapists. I am also a member of the British Association of Brain Injury Case Managers.I qualified in 2001, gaining a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy with the College of Occupational Therapists from the University of Northampton. I have worked in the Independent Sector, gaining extensive experience working with children, young people, and adults with complex disabilities as a consequence of brain injury.
