Profile

I am a Registered General Nurse (RGN) with extensive experience across Health and Social Care settings. I currently work as a Deputy Head of Service for Continuing Healthcare within a NHS setting, where I lead a team supporting individuals eligible for NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC). My responsibilities include overseeing the completion of comprehensive CHC assessments and ensuring effective multi‑agency collaboration and coordination to achieve optimal outcomes for individuals. I also support and advise the clinical team to undertake CHC reviews in a timely manner and act as a senior decision‑maker for cases referred to the Complex Panel, ensuring care delivered in the community is safe, sustainable, proportionate, and cost‑effective.

I have a strong working knowledge of Clinical Governance, Risk and Safety Management, and Clinical Auditing, including the application of regulatory standards, identification and mitigation of clinical risk, investigation of incidents, learning from adverse events, and the use of audit and quality improvement processes to support safe, effective, and patient‑centred care. My current role involves investigating complaints from service users and providers, gathering and analysing evidence, and producing clear, concise reports and action plans.

I have knowledge and practical experience in Safeguarding Adults, the Mental Capacity Act (2005), and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS). I have been involved in the preparation of witness statements for Court in relation to Section 21A and Section 16 applications under the Mental Capacity Act, including the summarising and presentation of best‑interest assessments and associated findings.

As a care expert, I am able to provide independent and impartial assessments and detailed reports for the Court. My opinions are informed by a substantial clinical background and extensive experience within health and social care settings. I adopt a systematic, evidence‑based approach, critically reviewing medical records, care plans, assessments, and relevant documentation to determine care needs, risks, and appropriateness of services. My conclusions are balanced, objective, and clearly reasoned, with a focus on assisting the Court in making informed decisions.
