Profile

I am a dedicated and accomplished healthcare professional specialising in diabetes care, with a robust academic background and extensive experience in planning, organising, and managing healthcare services for Medway residents.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Diabetes Studies, alongside a Bachelor of Science in Adult Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, complemented by a qualification in Securities and Investment.

Currently, I serve as the Lead Diabetes Inpatient Specialist Nurse for Mental Health Wards at East London NHS Foundation Trust. My previous roles include Diabetes Specialist Nurse and Advanced Clinical Practitioner in a GP Surgery, as well as Lead Inpatient Diabetes Specialist Nurse at Medway Maritime Hospital.

Additionally, I have held positions as the Lead Diabetes Specialist Transition Nurse at Darenth Valley Hospital, in District Nursing, Practice Nursing, and within the healthcare department of Her Majesty’s Prison Cookham Wood Young Offenders’ Institute in Rochester, Kent.

I have been instrumental in service redesign and development, notably contributing to the creation of a transition service for young people diagnosed with diabetes at Darenth Valley Hospital. My efforts aimed to facilitate a seamless transition to adulthood, and I authored the transition policy that underpins the service's standard operating procedures. Furthermore, I participated in a quality improvement project focused on enhancing diabetes treatment compliance within the BAME community.

As a Nurse Prescriber, I was selected as part of the inaugural cohort by NHS England to complete the Advanced Clinical Practice program through the e-portfolio route.

Prior to my nursing career, I gained valuable experience in investment banking, corporate finance, and served in the House of Parliament, which has enriched my multifaceted approach to healthcare.

I enjoy a fulfilling family life and am passionate about local politics, traveling, and reading, reflecting my commitment to community engagement and lifelong learning.
