Profile

I am a clinically active senior midwife with extensive intrapartum experience across a range of maternity units with annual birth rates between 2,000 and 8,000. Over 15 years in the NHS, including more than a decade in senior midwifery leadership roles such as Labour Ward Coordinator, I have developed advanced expertise in managing high‑acuity clinical environments. I am skilled in CTG interpretation, maternity triage, enhanced maternal care, and the coordination of complex intrapartum pathways, providing clinical oversight and decision‑making.

I hold an MSc in Advanced Professional Practice (Nursing and Midwifery), with specialist study in maternal critical care, mentorship and newborn infant physical examination. I have led quality improvement initiatives, including the successful relaunch of an outpatient induction of labour pathway within my organisation.

I have undertaken perinatal incident investigations since 2015 and have been consistently commended by external bodies for the clarity, accuracy, and analytical depth of my reports. My investigative expertise led to my appointment to an independent review team examining maternity services across multiple NHS Trusts. I am recognised for my diligence, objectivity, and meticulous approach in both clinical practice and investigative work.

My specialist interests include complex pregnancy, bereavement care, maternity triage, intrapartum care, and CTG interpretation. I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and have completed formal training in the medico‑legal process. I fully understand my responsibilities under the Civil Procedure Rules and the duties of an expert witness, including the requirement to provide independent, unbiased, and evidence‑based opinion to the court.
