Profile
I am a registered nurse with 18 years’ experience in clinical settings. I have been working within the cardiology specialty for majority of my career. I started my career, working in the coronary care unit, and then transferred to the cardiac catheterisation suite as a scrub/recovery nurse, where also at this time I managed the unit for 4 years.
I have had the opportunity to work in both a busy acute tertiary centre at King's College Hospital and also a general district hospital part of the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS trust. The imagery of contrast is evident with one having a higher demand of more acute patients and the other managing with the support of neighbouring tertiary centres; but the goal or outcome remains the same, patient care is paramount to both centres.
Since 2019, I have been working as a band 7 clinical nurse specialist for Acute Coronary Syndrome and Rapid Access chest pain clinic. I support the multidisciplinary team by providing advice and a management care plan for the patient with acute coronary syndrome or suspected angina related chest pain symptoms.
I carry out a comprehensive history taking and physical assessments to aid investigations and recommend treatment options in managing the condition to GPs and other clinicians in keeping with NICE Guidelines, local policies and with the support and guidance of cardiology consultant.
