Profile

I am Richard Corner, an experienced Registered Children’s Nurse with a career spanning more than ten years across diverse paediatric health care settings, specialising in paediatric critical care and community care. My professional journey began at The Royal Cornwall Hospital in the children’s accident and emergency department, before advancing my skills in the Intensive Care Unit at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

I subsequently worked as a Paediatric Clinical Lead, where I applied my knowledge of paediatric health care to manage complex cases and enhance community services. In this role, I directed nursing and healthcare assistant teams, delivered care to children with long term ventilation requirements, and performed risk assessments.

I currently hold the position of Head of Service, leading the strategic and operational delivery of care services. I oversee diverse care packages, ensuring safeguarding compliance, and patient centred outcomes. My responsibilities include embedding national guidelines into local practice, and maintaining robust systems of quality assurance.

Beyond clinical and operational leadership, I am able to provide reports for court proceedings, covering clinical negligence cases. I adhere to the Civil Procedure Rules governing expert witnesses and Part 35, demonstrating a consistent commitment to professional standards and ethical practice.
