What an unforgettable week on our accessible surf adventure in Barbados! This stunning island gave us everything we dreamed of and then some: perfect waves, incredible ocean moments, mouthwatering local flavours, and most importantly, truly inclusive experiences so every single person in our group could dive in and share the stoke.

Huge thanks to The Wave Project, the trailblazing surf therapy charity that turned this dream into reality! Their groundbreaking adaptive surfing programmes, specialised gear, and deep commitment to inclusion transformed potential barriers into pure magic. From beach access help to tailored techniques and that endless passion for getting everyone into the lineup - their heart and expertise powered every unforgettable session. Thank you for believing in us and opening the ocean to all. You're literally changing lives, one wave at a time

Right from touchdown, Barbados wrapped us in its famous warm welcome. The south coast was our playground, delivering consistent, fun, beginner-to-intermediate waves, backed by welcoming local surf crews who kept every session safe, supportive, and open to everyone.

Chasing Waves Along the South Coast

We roamed the breathtaking coastline, scoring long, mellow lefts at Freights Bay (a total gem for relaxed, soulful rides), plus nearby favourites like Surfers Point and more. Crystal-clear turquoise water, golden sand, forgiving conditions, every paddle-out felt like paradise.Swimming with Sea Turtles at Freights BayHighlight alert: floating in the calm, clear waters of Freights Bay as graceful sea turtles glided right past us! These gentle giants surfacing all around, the vibrant marine life, the peacefulness. it was surreal, joyful, and left us all grinning from ear to ear in total awe.

Friday Night Magic: Oistins Fish FryThen came the legendary Oistins Fish Fry - the island's iconic Friday night street party! Fresh-grilled flying fish, mahi-mahi, creamy macaroni pie, pulsing live music, dancing, and that unbeatable Bajan vibe. It was the ultimate celebration after a day in the water, delicious food, great company, and pure Caribbean energy welcoming everyone to join the fun.

This accessible surf trip reminded us why we chase these adventures: breaking boundaries, spreading the joy of surfing, and building lifelong memories, all made possible by The Wave Project. Barbados, you were pure magic. Thank you for the waves, the turtles, the flavours, and the aloha spirit.
