
Julia Hopkins
Talk: Nutrition and Growth: Getting it Right for Each Child
Julia has been working as a paediatric dietitian for over 35 years and as an expert witness for 30 years. In addition to her dietetic qualifications, Julia has a Master’s in Ethics and the Law in Healthcare Practice and a second Master’s in Forensic Psychological Studies. During her career Julia has worked in secondary, tertiary and community settings within the NHS and her clinical experience has covered a wide range of specialisms including Paediatric Intensive Care (PICU), complex feeding difficulties including Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), enteral feeding, weight management, gender incongruence and Long Covid. Her current NHS role is in the National service for nucleotide excision repair disorders and she also works in private practice. Julia has lectured on the nutritional problems in children with cerebral palsy for over 25 years.
