I am a registered adult nurse, with over 30 years of experience in both acute and community settings.
My career has equipped me with a comprehensive skill set acquired through work in various specialties including Endoscopy, Urology, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Gastroenterology, Elderly Care, Plastics, Clinical Education, and NHS Continuing Healthcare.
Currently, I am employed full-time by the NHS as a CHC Specialist Nurse Assessor. Additionally, I am a qualified Immediate Life Support (ILS) instructor and clinical skills trainer.
In my role as a Specialist Nurse Assessor, I perform holistic nursing assessments for patients with complex care needs and those at end-of-life stages, adhering to the Department of Health’s Framework for NHS Continuing Healthcare.
I case manage for individuals with long-term conditions and complex care requirements, securing appropriate care packages within prescribed limitations.
My extensive hospital experience encompasses leading, promoting, and maintaining exceptional standards of care in high-pressure and demanding environments. I have spearheaded numerous quality improvement and clinical governance initiatives, particularly within Urology and Gastroenterology, to enhance patient safety, reduce adverse incidents, and prevent delayed discharges. Furthermore, I am an experienced Covid-19 and flu vaccinator.
