Profile

Beginning my career in 2001 as an Occupational Therapist has provided me with the solid clinical background for my work as a specialist independent Case Manager. During my time working in the NHS as an OT I have worked in different Rehabilitation units throughout the UK, including; WCNN Liverpool, NHNN London and Walker gate Park, Northeast.

Within these units I worked on acute neurology and neurosurgical wards, as well as neurorehabilitation. I treated clients on a specialised neuro-behavioural ward which allowed me to narrow my work towards clients with cognitive and behavioural difficulties as a result of their injuries. I also have experience in community and work-based rehabilitation, cognitive and physical.

My experience also includes working as a care expert, clinical case manager and clinical delivery manager, encompassing all aspectsof neurorehabilitation.

My clinical experience spans across managing different clients from high functioning individuals living alone to clients with complex injuries requiring 24 hour packages of care. I have worked with pre and post-trial clients, liaising with litigating solicitors, court of protection, care experts and barristers, as well as local authority professionals and private practitioners. I am professional yet able to show empathy to my clients and their families knowing first-hand how challenging these circumstances can be. Having lived experience of a family member with a brain injury, as well as another family member with a spinal injury, has given me a true insight into the difficulties families can face when navigating their recovery and rehabilitation services.

I am the Chair of Headway Wirral, organising an annualtouch rugby tournament to raise much needed funds to support the four weeklygroups that take place each week.
