Profile

I am a Registered Nurse, and I have worked throughout my career with palliative care patients in both in-patient and community settings. I care passionately about providing excellent care for every patient.

I also previously spent 12 years working within Gastroenterology in an acute setting and as a Frailty Lead/Case Manager within a GP Practice.

Following this, I also worked as a Clinical Co-ordinator within a GP Practice supporting those with complex needs including patients with Dementia and elderly/frail patients.

A major part of my current role in Palliative Care is visiting palliative care patients who require assessment of their end-of-life care needs. This includes advanced care planning, completing ReSPECT documents and liaising closely with GP Practices and District Nurse Teams.

My many years of experience within Nursing and my training in advanced communication skills enable me to discuss potentially difficult or sensitive subjects concerning my patient’s care.

I have previously worked as a Registered Manager for a palliative care team who provided end of life care to patients who chose for their end-of-life care to take place in their home. I managed a team of dedicated Registered General Nurses who provided holistic end of lifecare to our patients, and support to their families/carers, in addition today-to-day operational leadership and support of the clinical team. This included recruiting, training and ongoing supervision of staff, whilst ensuring risk assessments were completed and policies and procedures were in place and reviewed to ensure standards of care were maintained.

I am a member of the Nursing and Midwifery Council and the Royal College of Nursing.

I am committed to attending regular training sessions to maintain my expertise, professional competency and development.
