Profile
I am a Physiotherapist with over 30 years of experience working within the NHS and within the independent sector. I have worked at an advanced level as a clinical specialist whilst also managing a large team of Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists and therapy support workers.
Within my clinical role I was responsible for the provision and development of Paediatric services across the areas of Limb reconstruction, orthopaedics, burns and plastic surgery. I have vast experience in the physiotherapy management of children with complex conditions including congenital limb abnormalities, birth injuries, major trauma and amputees.
Whilst working as an independent physiotherapist, I provide treatment to both children and adults with a wide range of conditions.
I am qualified as a non medical prescriber and have a clinical interest in both acute and chronic pain management. I have also trained as an Escape pain management programme facilitator and am qualified as a moving and handling trainer.
I have experience of lecturing and training provision, within my clinical team, at Sheffield Hallam University and also nationally and internationally within my clinical area of expertise.
I have worked since 2014 within the fields of clinical negligence and personal injury both as an expert witness and as a case manager. I have completed a masters degree in medical law and ethics which has provided a greater understanding of legal services and enhanced my role as an expert witness.
I undertake a wide range of instructions on behalf of Claimant and Defendant Solicitors.
I understand my duties as an expert witness under the Civil Procedure Rules and have undertaken specialist training in this role. I regularly participate in professional development to ensure my expertise remains up to date.
My Specialist Skills include:
· Management of the complex limb reconstruction patient
· Paediatric Rehabilitation
· Splinting
